03 - Typography

Three faces, three jobs.

Display for headlines, Inter for reading, mono for data. All three are self-hosted variable fonts - no third-party font requests, ever. The type does the work photography would do elsewhere.

The faces

Aa Bricolage Grotesque Display. Headlines, wordmark, big numbers of intent. Weights 600–700, tracked tight, opsz pinned at 14 for the wordmark.

Aa Inter Body. The workhorse - paragraphs, UI copy, captions. Line-height ≥ 1.5. Never used for headlines.

Aa Geist Mono Data. Reserved for numbers, units, dates, codenames and eyebrow labels. Never body copy.

Display ramp

Fluid via clamp() - the hero scales 40 → 112px across viewports. Sentence case always; Title Case is banned.

Body · Inter 400 · 17/26A bootstrapped EV charging network for Ghana, designed for the grid we actually have. The charger keeps working through dumsor.

Mono ramp

Where the numbers live. If it's a value - kWh, GHS, a date, a version - it's mono.

Rules

Sentence case everywhere - buttons, labels, headings. The eyebrow is the only uppercase element, and it's mono.

Don't

Never Title Case Marketing Headers. And never mono for sentences - it's reserved for data.

Self-host. Fonts ship from our origin as latin-subset variable woff2. Fast on Ghana mobile networks, no third-party beacon.

Don't

No Google Fonts link tags, no CDN fonts, no additional weights without a case for them.
